Monica Liggins has lived in the Jenkintown area for most of her life. She received both her undergraduate and graduate level certification from Temple University. She was a student of John Binsfeld, past principal organist at Old Christ Church, Philadelphia. An accomplished flutist, she studied with Carol Morgan, Bernard Goldberg, and attended Master Classes with Marcel Moyse. Monica studied Music Therapy with Dr. Kenneth Bruscia and worked as a Music Therapist at COHMAR in Philadelphia and also at De LaSalle In Towne, a school for at risk teen age boys. In her more than 30-year career, she has been organist/choir director at St. Ambrose RC Church (Phila.), St. Luke RC Church, (Glenside), Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, (Southampton,) and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Wyncote. Before coming to COOS she was organist choir director at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Phoenixville. She lives in Wyncote and has a daughter, Johanna.
