About Us

  

The Reverend Eric Bond, Priest-in-Charge

Our priest-in-charge and pastor is The Reverend Eric Bond.  Father Eric also serves as rector of St. John's Church, Huntingdon Valley, a neighboring parish.  Born in Chicago and raised in Chester County, Pennsylvania, he received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University.  He attended Episcopal Divinity School and then did graduate study at the University of Chicago.  He served previously as chaplain at the Church Farm School in Exton, Pennsylvania.      

Eric and his wife Carolyn are the parents of five children, Maggie, Will, Sam, and the twins, Pat and Tom.  They live in the rectory at St. John's Huntingdon Valley.  Carolyn also graduated from Pennsylvania State University and is an adjunct professor of Sociology at LaSalle University in Phildelphia.

Monica Liggins, Organist and Choir Director

Monica Liggins has lived in the Jenkintown area for most of her life. She received both her undergraduate and graduate level certification from Temple University. She was a student of John Binsfeld, past principal organist at Old Christ Church, Philadelphia. An accomplished flutist, she studied with Carol Morgan, Bernard Goldberg, and attended Master Classes with Marcel Moyse. Monica studied Music Therapy with Dr. Kenneth Bruscia and worked as a Music Therapist at COHMAR in Philadelphia and also at De LaSalle In Towne, a school for at risk teen age boys. In her more than 30-year career, she has been organist/choir director at St. Ambrose RC Church (Phila.), St. Luke RC Church, (Glenside), Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, (Southampton,) and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Wyncote. Before coming to COOS she was organist choir director at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Phoenixville. She lives in Wyncote and has a daughter, Johanna.

 

The Reverend Winston Smith, Deacon

Winston Smith was born and raised in North Carolina and came to Philadelphia with his wife twenty five years ago to study theology. Since earning his M.Div. with a counseling concentration from Westminster Theological Seminary, Winston has been practicing and teaching counseling, largely in the area of marriage and family. He was ordained to the deaconate in June 2016. He has been married for twenty-five years and has three children: Gresham (20), Sydney (18), and Charlotte (16). They live in Fort Washington and attend All Hallow's Episcopal Church in Wyncote.
